Lipo Fat Removal & High-Definition Body Sculpting
Vaser lipo (also known as Vaser liposelection) is the latest in ultrasonic liposuction technology. Using pulsed ultrasound energy, it is the most efficient system for emulsifying and removing fat, while causing the least damage to surrounding tissues. In the hands of an experienced surgeon, it is a precision body sculpting treatment that improves aesthetic contours by eliminating areas of fat that have otherwise been resistant to exercise and dieting. Vaser produces superior results, while at the same time being a minimally invasive, low-impact procedure.

Patients considering liposuction typically have many questions:
- How good will my results be?
- What are the risks?
- How talented is my doctor?
- How long does swelling and bruising last?
- What can I expect before, during, and after a Vaser liposuction procedure?
- How much does it cost?
The best way to learn about Vaser, and to get clear answers to these questions and more is to visit us in our clinic for a free consultation. If you are seriously considering a procedure you should contact us now to set up an appointment by calling 02079357745, or by filling in the contact form at the top right of this page. Learn more about how we evaluate patient suitability for Vaser lipo by watching our consultation process video.
Why is a face-to-face consultation so important? First, we believe it is essential that our patients speak directly with the surgeon who will perform their procedure. It is a key opportunity to review the objectives you are hoping to achieve, while allowing your doctor to examine you, and to realistically discuss the results that can be expected.
During the examination, your surgeon will perform an ultrasound scan to measure the volume of fat in the areas you wish to treat. This will allow us to give you the best price estimate for your procedure, and will help keep the cost of Vaser liposuction to you as low as possible. In addition, your doctor will show you before and after photos from our own patients. We've found that this is the very best way to illustrate what can be achieved with Vaser lipo, as performed by your doctor in our practice. Please follow this link to read more about our Vaser liposuction consultations.
Note, we do not use third party hospitals for our surgical procedures. Our clinic is equipped with its own operating theatre because we've found that it safeguards patient privacy, and, in contrast to high-traffic medical centres, having our own facilities significantly reduces the risk of operative infection. The Dr. Alexandra Chambers Medical and Aesthetic Practice is a fully approved surgical clinic, registered with the Care Quality Commission (click to display).

On the remainder of this page, we explain how Vaser works; the kind of results you can expect; our clinic's pre-operative, and post-operative procedures; and an indication of Vaser liposuction costs.
What is Vaser lipo?
Vaser ultrasound technology primarily works by shaking fat cells loose from the connective tissue holding them in place, allowing them to be more easily drained from target areas of the body. The procedure consists of making small keyhole incisions, allowing the surgeon to slip a thin, hollow metallic tube into the layer of subcutaneous fat. The tip of the tube vibrates at ultrasonic frequencies specifically tuned to excite and dislodge the fat cells, which are then removed under suction. Vaser liposuction can reshape and refine the face and body by carefully removing local fat deposits. The result is an improved body contour and body proportions.
Fat may be removed from all the major areas, including the face, arms, back, legs, and stomach. Finer targeting can include under the chin, cheeks, jowls, neck, upper arms, breasts, chest, abdomen, buttocks, hips, inner and outer thighs, knees, calves, and ankles, and in Vaser liposuction reviews found in forums and discussion boards on the internet, both patients and surgeons agree that it delivers better results than other types of liposuction.
How much does Vaser lipo cost?
As it uses only local anaesthetic or IV sedation, and requires no post-operative hospitalization, the cost of a Vaser liposuction is much more affordable than a standard one, and is typically within the budgets of most people. Vaser lipo costs depends on the number of areas to be treated, the volume of fat to be removed, and the density of connective tissue holding it in place. Prices for Vaser treatment in our clinic start from £2500, and will vary from that baseline depending on your needs and aspirations.
To provide you with the best estimate of price, we offer a free consultation in our Vaser lipo London clinic. This includes an ultrasound scan to measure the thickness of the fat layer in the areas to be treated, and from which an accurate estimate of the volume of fat to be removed can be made. You can read an in-depth explanation of our Vaser pricing here. To schedule your free consultation, fill in the contact form at the top of this page, or give us a call. We are happy to answer your questions.
What should I expect after my Vaser Liposuction procedure?
As only twilight sedation is normally needed, patients typically return home after the procedure, and can often return to their normal lives after a few days - even playing sports. On average swelling and bruising usually subside after two weeks, however sometimes it can take more time. We have just published a clinical study from our clinic on swelling, bruising, and numbness after Vaser lipo (click here).
During post-operative recovery, the patient wears a compression garment, which more rapidly promotes healing, and ensures that skin retraction proceeds as well as possible. To ensure that your Vaser lipo results are the best possible, five post-operative follow-ups are included in the price of each procedure at our clinic. The follow-ups are typically scheduled one day, three days, one week, and six weeks after the operation, and include changes to the dressing, a manual massage to facilitate lymphatic drainage, checking of the surgical wounds, and ultrasound scans to detect fluid build ups. Follow this link for more detailed information on our Vaser post-operative care.
Is Vaser Liposuction Painful?
Most patients undergo a Vaser procedure with little or no pain with only a local anaesthetic, or when needed, additional IV sedation can be offered for patients particularly sensitive. Post-operative discomfort is usually limited to swelling and bruising, which most patients find doesn't interfere with their daily activities.
What happens before my Vaser procedure?
The patient and surgeon meet to evaluate the suitability of the procedure for the patient, and to discuss in detail what can be achieved and what should be expected. If the patient and surgeon both agree that the procedure can reasonably achieve the patient's expectations, an ultrasound scan is made to accurately measure each individual region's fat layer thickness, and to produce an overall estimate of the fat volume to be removed. The consultation lasts about one hour, and is free and without obligation.
Vaser lipo vs Smart lipo
Many people ask us what is the difference between Vaser Lipo and Smart Lipo. The answer is Smart lipo uses a laser to heat and melt fat cells, whereas Vaser lipo uses ultrasonic waves to shake loose and liquify them. As ultrasonic waves penetrate the fat layer more deeply and effectively than can the heat from a laser, Vaser lipo more rapidly removes fat while inducing less trauma to the surrounding tissues (muscle and skin) of the patient. Overall, Vaser lipo produces smoother more satisfactory results.
Vaser lipo risks
As a surgical procedure, Vaser lipo is quite safe. Using only local anaesthetic or IV sedation, the risks associated with general anaesthesia are elimintated. In addition, as just small incisions are made, the risk of infection is minimized, and thanks to our own surgical theatre, our operative infection rates are substantially lower than the national average, and those of major medical centres. Moreover, we provide each patient an initial preventative dose of antibiotics to take just after their operation. Combined with our personalized post-surgical follow-ups we ensure that recovery is carefully monitored, and that risks are minimized.
