Eye Lift

Blepharoplasty and Periorbital Surgery

The eyes are what we regard the most in others, and because of this, they play a central role in facial beauty.  Poetically called the Windows of the Soul, others focus on our eyes more than at any other part of the face.  Sagging eyelids, hollows below the eyes, and eye bags are some of the common signs of ageing.  Cosmetic surgery for the eyes is one of the most effective means of producing a younger, fresher look.

As the body ages, skin loses elasticity, and fatty pads shift.  This gives rise to sagging in the eyelids and below the eyes.  It also results in fat pads that normally plump the skin below the eye, slipping downwards and gathering into eye bags.  Cosmetic treatment for these problems includes a variety of techniques, depending on the needs of the patient.  These include:

  • The lifting of skin above the brow to reduce eyelid hooding
  • The removal of excess skin and fat where needed for eye bag removal
  • The treatment of the skin around the eyes to improve its thickness and elasticity
  • The use of fillers to reduce hollows

The best combination of treatments depends on the needs of the patient, and this is best determined during an in-depth consultation in our clinic.  Please fill in the form or call the number at the top right side of this page if you would like to book an appointment.

Eye Lift Cost

The cost of a eye lift surgery depends on the complexity of the procedure.  This is based on the degree of sagging to be treated, whether fat and skin needs to be removed, and whether the skin needs to be treated to improve thickness and elasticity.  The price can range from £2,500 to £4,000, where for most patients, the most common cost being £2,500.  As each patient is unique, a precise estimate requires a consultation with the surgeon.  To book one, please use the contact form found at the top right side of this page or call the telephone number at the very top of the page.

The Eye Surgery Procedure

Eye surgery is commonly performed under local anaesthesia, and typically requires two to four hours to complete.  This is a day surgery, and the patient returns home after the procedure.

Recovery and Down Time from Blepharoplasty and Periorbital Surgery

After surgery, there is typically swelling and bruising, lasting about a week.  Full recovery is usually rapid, with most people healing in five to ten days.  Runny eyes and some conjunctive swelling are common for the first several days, and then this usually settles naturally.  If the lower part of the eye is treated, eyelashes may fall out, and then grow back in a few weeks time.
